Geekbench 2.0.16

Geekbench 2.0.16 has been released! Geekbench 2.0.16 features the following changes:

  • adds preliminary support for iMac (Early 2008)
  • adds better handling of corrupt SMBIOS strings
  • adds the ability to save results on Windows
  • fixes a class of timeout errors that could occur when submitting results to the Geekbench Result Browser
  • improves support for machines running 32-bit operating systems with more than 4GB of RAM

Geekbench 2.0.16 is a free update for all registered Geekbench 2 users.

  • Unfortunately there are a number of technical issues that prevent us from releasing a version of Geekbench for Linux that's statically linked (i.e., entirely self-contained).

  • Hi,

I have a fresh Ubuntu 8.04 x64 install and the 32bit Geekbench won't start "file not found". I thought strace would enlighten me but I don't see anything in there, strange! The 64bit version starts normally asking for a serial, perhaps later on it would crash as well - or not. It is fair to say the entire set of 32bit libraries may be missing from my system, which indeed calls for a static build since one of your aims is comparing 32bit and 64bit performance easily. Thanks
