WOW is about all I can say I have been clutching my powerbook g4 12 1ghz minidvi which i just replaced with a Macbook pro and just looking at this outs it all in perspective a little bit. I couldnt actually find my model in this list but with an average score of about 500 (for the computers actually listed) and factoring in that the new macbook pro is about 3200 (at least) thats a sizeable difference in power......Thanks for the great article

Question: I have a G5 tower, 1.8MHz and AGP) card is GeForce FX 5200. I purchased a Samsung monitor with a pivot stand. I want to be able to arrange the monitor to either display landscape or portrait views. The image must be rotated 90 degrees. In the System Preferences under Display there is suppose to be an option for rotation. That option is not present on muy G5. Is the option a factor of the AGP card? I have tried 10.3.9, 10.4, and 10.5 Operating Systems, but the rotation opti8on does not appear in Display under System Preferences. Any ideas to solve the problem would be most appreciated.

Just another idea/suggestion that popped into my head while I just finished writing the previous comment.

Is it possible to develop an web or downloadable application where the user can select the mac model and specs.

For example, lets say I want to compare an iMac (2008) 2.8 with 2GB versus an iMac 2.4 with 4GB and want to get numbers and graphs to see performance difference.

I think such an application with a database that is constantly updated with new models and has all previous generation ones will be an excellent tool for performance/benchmark evaluation

I hope the suggestion/idea helps.

Best,
B

hey there,

Thanks for posting these benchmarks. The graph and numbers really makes it easier to understand and compare the computers. It really puts things into perspectives. This has definitely been helpful.

I'm new to your blog, and just found it by random while searching for vs specs between iMacs. I'm very happy I stopped by your site.

Awesome content, please keep up the goodwork!

PS. I'm not that far away, I'm from Toronto
